Alabama Department of Archives and History
New museum, new space

Anew museum and more space are in the works for the Alabama Department of Archives and History. The department recently broke ground on a $30 million expansion scheduled for completion by January 2004, according to the Montgomery (Ala.) Advertiser. The state archives are home to more than 500,000 artifacts and documents, which will be better preserved and displayed in the additional 60,000-square-foot, climate-controlled storage and display space. Learn more at the department's Web site <>.
