FamilySearch adds names and features, making the year-old genealogy sensation even more useful.
The FamilySearch site <www.familysearch.org>, which launched a year ago to such instant popularity that it temporarily overwhelmed the ability of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to handle the Web traffic, keeps expanding. The free site recently added the LDS church's Pedigree Resource File, a database of more than 9 million names submitted by individual researchers. Previously, the database was available only on CD-ROM; you still need to buy the inexpensive discs to get full information and downloadable GEDCOM family tree files. 

Also new on FamilySearch:

• 16 more geographic regions in the International Genealogical Index
