Seats go fast for the National WWII Memorial dedication.
The dedication of the
National WWII Memorial <
www.wwiimemorial.com> at the Mall in Washington, DC, takes place this Memorial Day weekend — but seating went fast for the four-day
Tribute to a Generation celebration's ticketed events.
The weekend's highlight is the dedication ceremony on May 29 at 2 p.m., preceded by WWII-era entertainment. Members of the war generation received priority ticketing; those accepted from the waiting list were notified in March.
Likewise, seats for three free Salute to WWII Veterans shows were quickly snatched up; the waiting list has been closed since February. Attendance is limited for a memorial service at Washington National Cathedral, but at press time, event organizers were looking into simulcast viewing locations.
