New web tools for tracing UK roots and researching in Scottish news.
Genealogists with UK roots recently got two new online research tools:

? Familyrelatives.org <www.familyrelatives.org> joined the crowd of fee-based Web sites that offer UK civil-registration indexes. Register for free to search the transcribed indexes by surname, first name (called a forename on the search form), spouse's name, year, quarter-year and locality. Viewing most record information costs two "units" — you can buy 60 units for $10 and must use them within 30 days.
