Kyle J. Betit, a professional genealogist, author and lecturer residing in
Salt Lake City, is research director for ProGenealogists, Inc. He specializes in Irish, French, Roman Catholic and
immigration research. Betit is co-author of the book A Genealogist's Guide
to Discovering Your Irish Ancestors. He also is an instructor in the American research department for the online genealogy courses offered by the University of Toronto and the National Institute for Genealogical Studies at www.genealogicalstudies.com.
Sharon DeBartolo Carmack, a certified genealogist, specializing in writing narrative family histories. She is the author of 10 books and numerous articles and columns. Carmack is the editor of Betterway Genealogy Books, a consulting editor for Newbury Street Press, a contract advisor for the National Writers Union and a contributing editor for Family Tree Magazine. Christine Crawford-Oppenheimer, a special collections librarian/archivist and professional genealogist. Her book, Long Distance Genealogy, was published by Betterway Books in 2000. She has written for many genealogical publications and has been speaking on genealogical topics for several years. She lives in Dutchess County, NY, with her husband and four cats.
Emily Anne Croom, a popular lecturer for societies and community groups. She teaches genealogy on the Barnes & Noble Web site www.bn.com. She holds a master's degree in history, writes articles for several genealogy periodicals and is an active researcher. Kathleen W. Hinckley, a Certified Genealogical Record Specialist and senior member of the Professional Private Investigators Association of Colorado. She is nationally recognized for her expertise in 20th century genealogical research and is a regular speaker at conferences and seminars. Hinckley is the author of Your Guide to the Federal Census, Locating Lost Family Members & Friends and a contributing author to The Source: A Guidebook to American Genealogy. Linda Jonas, a former president of the British Isles Family History Society-U.S.A. She is the director of the McLean Family History Center, which specializes in British ancestry. Rhonda McClure, a professional genealogist specializing in New

Marcia Yannizze Melnyk, a genealogist, lecturer, instructor and author of the new book The Genealogist's Question & Answer Book, as well as The Weekend Genealogist, The Genealogist's Handbook for New England Research, Fourth Edition and The Ancestors and Descendants of Annabelle Whitehead and Anthony Pedro. She is the creator and instructor of the New England Historic Genealogical Society's "Genealogy 101" course and president of the Italian Genealogical Society of America.
Paul Milner, a native of Northern England and a professional genealogical researcher specializing in the British Isles. Milner is co-author of A Genealogist's Guide to Discovering Your English Ancestors and A Genealogist's Guide to Discovering Your Scottish Ancestors with Linda Jonas. He is a popular speaker at genealogical conferences throughout the country and writes for several genealogical publications, including FGS Forum.
Katherine Scott Sturdevant, a popular lecturer for national societies and state and local groups. A social historian, Sturdevant is senior history faculty at Pikes Peak Community College and author of Bringing Your Family History to Life through Social History. She holds a master's degree and is a doctoral candidate in history. Her second book for Betterway Books will be about preserving and editing your family heirloom documents, such as diaries and letters. Her special emphasis in family history is writing narrative in historical context.
Maureen A. Taylor, owner of Taylor & Strong. Taylor combines her background in history, genealogy, photography and library science to assist individuals and institutions with research and project management. She is the author of several genealogical books and articles including Preserving Your Family Photographs and Uncovering Your Ancestry through Family Photographs. She writes a popular column for FamilyTreeMagazine.com about identifying family photographs. She also is project manager for BostonFamilyHistory.com, a site that lets visitors plan a genealogical research trip to the Boston area. Maureen was recently featured as an expert guest on "The View," outlining co-host Meredith Vieira's family tree.
Ernest Thode, co-author of A Genealogist's Guide to Discovering Your Germanic Ancestors. He also wrote Address Book for Germanic Genealogy and eight other books.
James Warren is a full-time professional genealogist, writer and lecturer from St. Paul, Minn. He specializes in institutional records and Midwestern research. He is co-author of Your Guide to the Family History Library and has self-published several other books.
Paula Stuart-Warren is a Certified Genealogical Records Specialist, writer and lecturer who lives in St. Paul, Minn. Her research specialties are school records, Native American research and research at national repositories. Paula is co-author of Your Guide to the Family History Library, which includes all the recent changes at the library and has specially created library layout maps. The book also includes much about Salt Lake City itself, including the light rail system's (TRAX) newest line.
