Genome profiling can give you information about deep ancestry—where your ancient ancestors came from, but not information that’s likely to help you find relatives within a genealogically researchable time frame. 23andme, a similar service, charges $399 for genome scanning.

I haven’t tested this offer. If you do, post a comment here and let me know what you think.

  1. I don’t know if I actually want to know my risk of having all of those diseases… but I did go ahead and sign up. I don’t have to view all the results if I don’t want to and I’d hate to pass up a free service like this. They’re just registering folks right now, so I’m wondering when the testing will begin?

While TruGenetics™ is not ready to start genotyping in the pre-registration phase, this free service will be available soon, and you will be contacted when it is ready! Please check back periodically for updates of progress.
