  1. Hello Diane,

I’ve tried to access Ancestry.com for the free weekend & the webpage doesn’t state a there is a free weekend & when I login into an account I have with them I can’t access any images. Is the start date the 29th? or perhaps it’s free for international markets?

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks for doing the blog.

  2. Everywhere I look I see a free weekend…when I try and sign in it tells me to upgrade my Canada membership which expires on the 30th….when I tried again, it gives me membership options.

  3. I also saw a free weekend advertised but it did not help me to get in. It said 67 countries but I have no reason to try Africa or South American places so I guess it is not free for people that do not have family in those new countries. However it did make me go there to try and find one or two people in my old search parameters. No luck for me, unfortunately. It did not let me view the same information I needed when I was a member.

  4. Bunk. Ancestry dot com hasn’t had a free weekend for a few years…their "free" deal is a "free" trial nowadays. They need to get back to the actual free…no sign ups…just free open data. Isn’t that the bonus of having the internet? Access to data…free. Come On Ancestry dot com.
