  1. Hello,
You will find some helpful information in our guide at http://familytreemagazine.com/article/At-Your-Service-Military-Research-Guide . Many WWII service records were destroyed in a fire at the National Archives Personnel Records Center, but if your fathers’ records still exist, next of kin can request them from NARA: http://www.archives.gov/veterans/military-service-records/ . Some veterans registered at their county courthouse when they returned home, too. You also can search for your father’s burial information using the VA’s Nationwide Gravesite Locator: http://gravelocator.cem.va.gov/index.html
Best of luck with your search!
