Weve heard (but havent confirmed) that several members may file a class action lawsuit and/or ask the New York attorney general to investigate the vote, based on member assertions they didnt receive proxy ballots in the mail.
The contentious meeting (read an eyewitness account from attendee and proposal opponent Dick Hillenbrand) shed no light on the boards plans for the societys library and other assets. A synogogue recently purchased the NYG&B headquarters and will lease space to the society for two years.
