  1. I find it interesting that Maureen never mentions utilizing a library during the interviews on Today. Libraries often offer free access to AncestryLibrary (Library version of Ancestry.com) and numerous other internet databases – and then there are the primary source documents on microfilm and books. Local librarians can offer support and guidance to novice researchers. Perhaps she was only asked to comment on internet sources, but I feel this perpetuated the myth that your whole family genealogy can be found online if only you go to enough websites.

    P.S. I fully agree with Karen about telling people to check out their local libraries. Ancestry.com is way to expensive now.
