They say change is the only constant. Fall turns to winter, and one year rolls over to the next. With that in mind, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Andrew, and I’m the new editor in chief of Family Tree Magazine.
A little about me: I’m a second-generation American on my father’s side, and a fifth-generation Cincinnatian on my mother’s. I’ve always been passionate about my family’s history, particularly stories about my grandparents’ immigration to the United States in the early 1950s. I have German and Irish roots, and dream of visiting my ancestors’ homeland in the Banat region of Romania.
I’ve worked with Family Tree for years, heading our book program and editing titles such as the Unofficial Guide to Ancestry.com, Trace Your German Roots Online, and The Family Tree Guide to DNA Testing and Genetic Genealogy. I also regularly write for FamilyTreeMagazine.com, and longtime subscribers might recognize me from the magazine’s Research Roadmap column.
I’ll be taking over for Diane Haddad, who is starting a new chapter after working with Family Tree Magazine for 15 years.
The whole Family Tree editorial team and I are excited to continue bringing you information about the greatest genealogy websites and resources.
