Virtual Genealogy Conference

Ask Questions, Get Answers

Because you don't have to rush through from presentation to presentation, you can take the time to connect with fellow researchers and our expert moderators on the discussion boards, as well as ask questions for the live Q&As. And you don't even have to attend to get your questions answered; the discussion boards are open from the time the conference starts. The live events are recorded so if you can't make it, you can still watch it later.

You'll love the Spring Virtual Genealogy Conference 2019 if you:

  • Want all the best parts of a conference from the convenience of your own home
  • Seek new tips, tricks, and resources to improve your genealogy research
  • Like exploring new approaches to finding your family history
  • Want to overcome obstacles in your research and solve your brick walls
  • Are ready to take your genealogy to the next level - without the hassle of travel

You'll have the best seat in the house for every presentation, and you don't even have to leave home!

Our 3-day conference is packed full of live and video presentations, along with resources you can download for your personal use. Just log in on the day the conference starts to start learning. The recorded presentations and discussion boards are open the whole time so you can download them and view them at your own pace.

There are some live events. Can't make them? You can still participate by asking questions on the attached discussion boards. Then, watch the recording once it has been posted so you don't have to miss a thing!

At the end of the conference (based on Eastern Time Zone), the discussions and activities will come to a close. However, you'll still have access in read-only mode to view and download all the information.

"This was my first Virtual Conference. I truly enjoyed it and learned so much even from topics that I did not think applied to my research."— Marianne T.

The Keynote: Revealing Hidden Depths in Our Ancestors

Virtual Conference

The keynote this year promises to be an exciting one with Sunny Jane Morton! Genealogy research can reveal hidden depths to our ancestors, which makes the search more meaningful and significant. It can also have a profound effect on our own lives as we learn about the hopes and dreams, loves and losses they experienced. Join us for the live keynote on March 23rd at noon (ET, 11 AM Central, 10 Mountain, 9 Pacific).

We sat down with Sunny to get a preview of what she'll be "revealing" in her keynote. Watch this 7-minute video to get a taste of what's to come!

The Live Q&As

The virtual conference wouldn't be quite as fun without all the opportunities to ask questions and get answers. In addition to the discussion boards, there will be three live Q&As with your moderators, Shannon and Gena.

  • Gone Missing:
We're all missing something in our genealogy research. In some cases, it's missing people or missing maiden names; in others, it's missing records or locations. Both Gena and Shannon will be talking tips and tricks for locating those missing details and objects. Join them on Friday night at 7 pm ET!
  • DNA Dos and Don'ts:
Shannon will kick off Sunday morning at 11am ET. Ask your questions in the days leading up to the live Q&A, then tune in to hear her responses.
  • Dos and Don'ts of Newspaper Research:
Stick around to talk newspaper records with Gena at 1:30 pm ET.
