University

Family Tree University offers genealogy courses online that make learning how to trace your family tree fun and rewarding. You can complete lessons on your own schedule within your class session (usually four weeks) or workshops (usually one week). You’ll get guidance from an experienced genealogy instructor and be able to interact with other students, or you can take one of our Independent study courses. You’ll complete exercises that will help you make new discoveries about your family’s past. And you’ll have access to a library of resources and how-to material to expand your knowledge during and after the class.

Our courses, workshops and live webinars cover a variety of topics, from genealogy research methods to genetic genealogy and DNA testing tools, organizational tips and techniques, and more. Designed for the genealogy enthusiast, these courses will help family historians uncover more of their own history. Whether you’re looking to learn more about your ethnic heritage or find where your ancestor grew up, you’ll find answers to your questions and new strategies for breaking down your brick walls.
