On May 7, 2018, MyHeritage announced that they have released a beta version of Health Family Tree. The free program allows you to conveniently organize your family’s health information. Not only is this beneficial for users today, but it will also have great value to your family in the future. Here’s what you need to know:

What is a health family tree

The Health Family Tree in no way replaces your existing genealogical tree. The tree does not allow you to add, edit or remove family members. Instead, it is a subset of your existing family tree. Using the Health Family Tree, you are able to conveniently annotate health conditions of your listed family members, both living and deceased. This puts all of your family health history in one easy-to-access location.

Your privacy is protected

The Health Family Tree is a private and secure area on your MyHeritage family site, and is only available to family site managers. If you decide to use it, you will be the only one who is able to see it, as it will be hidden even from family members on your family site. All information is stored securely.

MyHeritage may decide in the future to provide options for you to share and collaborate on the Health Family Tree with close family members. If they do this, it will be opt-in so you will always be in full control of who can see the information. But for now, the information will only be visible to you.

Our favorite benefit

Perhaps the best part of the MyHeritage Health Family Tree is the ability to display all of your tree’s information in a convenient list report. The report can then be easily downloaded or printed. Alternatively, you can pull up the list on your mobile device to reference when seeing your healthcare provider.
